Breathing.
What a simple complexity.
In and out.
How many breaths in a lifetime?
And what to do with those breaths?
Live.
Live as if your life depends on it,
Because it does.
Get up.
Speak out.
Use those breaths to speak words that will never be
Forgotten.
Forgotten like the color of your sweater the day you told me
you loved me,
when the words were more important than the time or place.
The words you spoke that made my heart
Fly.
Flying higher than the breaths of the angels,
You and I,
learning to let go of the weight that anchors us to the
ground.
Learning to fly like the birds above.
Fearless.
Fearless.
Oh how I long to be so.
Leaping, without looking,
And allowing the wind to carry my soul
Further than it’s ever gone.
But how?
Oh, Lord, show me how.
Let my faith be fearlessly
strong,
Strong.
Am I strong enough to stand alone?
Maybe, but I only wish to stand
If you’re by my side.
You, oh you.
And the way you are.
A beautiful soul with hope.
So much hope,
For yourself,
For me,
For us.
Us.
A glorious word,
Filled with promises of never being
Alone.
Alone in the mirror
With nothing staring back except eyes
Filled with dreams of finding something more.
More than my own thoughts can imagine.
More passion than expressed on this simple
Facade.
Facade, what a face.
A face which hides so much of what is underneath.
Thoughts, and beliefs, and dreams,
Oh, what dreams.
Dreams of myself and dreams of you.
Dreams of living, and of dying.
But for now, dreams of simplistic
Breathing.
Breathing.
Oh, what a simple complexity it is.
In and out
The air weaves through
Noses, mouths, lungs,
Time and space.
But what do to with those breaths?
